Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Material Handler to join the team in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Position: Material Handler – Logoplaste Edmonton (CA)

Reporting to: Team Leader / Production Manager

The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of any goods. This is full-time position that requires an individual that is self-motivated, willing to learn, and has a great attitude. Logoplaste Edmonton is a 24/7 manufacturing operation with a total of 42 employees.

Hours of Work:

Hours will be 40 hours per week, 4 x 10-hour shifts based in Edmonton. Occasionally work maybe required outside of “normal” work hours. The function requires shop floor, warehouse and yard work environments. Schedule: Thursday–Sunday, 7AM–5PM.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work to Health & Safety, Hygiene, & Housekeeping procedures within the workplace
  • Ensure finished goods are accurately labelled and packaged in accordance with finished product procedures
  • Finished products are stored and removed accurately in the warehouse area
  • Ensure that product movement complies with the first in first out rotation
  • Only remove bagged product from two rows at any one time as per company policy POL.2020.01
  • Proper load bar procedure as per company policy PRO.2011.01
  • Movement of any delivery or items that need a Fork lift truck to move it inside or outside of plant area
  • Ensure trailer is clean, safe, and cannot damage the product(s), no holes, etc
  • Inspect and return pallets/totes to inventory for reuse
  • Identify any hazards while loading and unloading trailers, personal safety
  • Ensure returned goods are reported to the Quality department and labelled (Hold) for inspection
  • Be aware of the quality of the items being loaded and question any defects noticed and report to the Quality department or the Team Leader
  • Report any faults to the forklift truck and record in the daily log in accordance with the Health & Safety policy
  • Ensure paperwork and spreadsheets are filled out completely and accurately
  • Ensure forklifts are only operated in authorized areas
  • Liaise with the delivery drivers
  • Any duties required by the management of the business

Competencies & Qualifications

  • Forklift experience and allowed training
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to work with others and give directions as required
  • Perform routine tasks, while remaining alert and flexible
  • Work steadily in a fast paced environment
  • Assist the team in all areas as needed
  • Able to lift 15kg overhead
  • Basic computer skills
