Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Team Lead, to join the plant team in Rome, NY (USA).
 
The Team Lead is responsible for support of the operation and assigned department(s) and coordination of activities within his/her scope of control and setting priorities to accomplish business goals. The Team Lead is a "hands on" working lead role and may be asked to perform duties of an operator or forklift driver.
 
Key Tasks & Activities...
- Supports the direction set forth by manager
- Responsible for providing a safe environment to all production employees, visitors and temp labor
- Ensure all employees receive regular safety training in accordance with the safety training program
- Ensure all employees and visitors receive and wear their PPE and safety equipment
- Continually monitor production floor and equipment for unsafe or hazardous conditions, report immediately and make appropriate corrections to repair, replace or quarantine
- Ensure proper medical attention is provided immediately with any accident perform the accident investigation promptly
- Maintain quality product by assuring all employees are completing quality checks and product is in specification
- Ensure all employees are trained to identify product for rejection, rework etc.
- Ensure all non-conforming products are communicated to the appropriate managers to disposition appropriately
- Responsible for maintaining a clean production floor and clean equipment
- Perform daily audits of production floor and equipment cleanliness and make necessary corrections to maintain a "showroom" condition
- Ensure all daily, weekly and periodic cleaning tasks are performed as outlined in the Master Cleaning Schedule with documentation initialed as completed
- Responsible for achieving maximum production efficiency on all scheduled machines
- Monitor machine processes and ensure any changes are justified and properly recorded
- Monitor production floor efficiencies and make necessary adjustments to meet and exceed OEE Standards
- Perform shift inventories to ensure accurate production numbers
- Record daily production, downtime summaries, etc.
- Proactive in addressing inefficiencies; communicate all equipment inefficiencies with maintenance personnel
- Enforcement of company policy and procedures with shift personnel
- Monitor shift personnel activities as it relates to Company Policy and Procedure
- Maintain employee relations and records
- Report employee attendance occurrences on day of occurrence
- Approve/deny and schedule accordingly all vacation requests, personal time, etc.
- Perform employee corrective action and disciplinary action with the assistance of the HR Manager
- Monitor employee breaks
- Schedule and conduct shift meetings regularly; document shift meetings
- Promote and participate in TPM events and projects
- Safety Committee membership encouraged but not required
- Assist with trials of new and existing products
- Participates in continuous improvement of the facility
- Assists with mold changes and set-ups
- Provides input to the manager on continuous basis for performance evaluation, corrective action and action plan purposes
- Losses optimization (vision, unforeseen stoppages etc.)
- Other duties as assigned by manager
 
Who we are looking for...
 
Background and Experience
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Industry experience preferred
 
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge preferred
- Working knowledge of computer systems
- Knowledge of quality systems

Physical requirements and work environment
- Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends as business demands
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for various times throughout the shift, to move or traverse in manufacturing area safely, to ascend/descend a ladder or stairs, to position self to work on manufacturing equipment
- Ability to see information postings throughout the facility, visually troubleshoot items on machinery and read directions, documents and signage
- Ability to frequently move objects weighing up to 50-75 pounds and to work in very hot or very cold conditions
- Ability to drive a forklift and achieve certification
