Logoplaste is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join the team in Inwood, WV (USA)

The Facilities Maintenance/Controls Engineer supports the overall manufacturing process through the ownership of PLC-related programming, troubleshooting, and support. Responsible for coordinating the implementation of engineering changes and assisting various departments with the implementation and required training.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the plant in all aspects of the electrical maintenance troubleshooting using PLC and robot programming skills.
  • System owner of Schaefer automated warehouse and JBT automated guided vehicle fleet
  • Support the new equipment installation and review when required.
  • Support the required electrical spare parts to ensure adequate stock.
  • Respond to equipment downtime issues in plant, establish required resources to assist in resolving in a timely manner.
  • Train and develop the plant electricians to increase their ability to understand and troubleshoot controls related issues.
  • Interface with the equipment supplier to assist with equipment troubleshooting and solutions.
  • Manage electrical equipment improvement projects.
  • Complete capital request as required.
  • Write detailed engineering specifications for equipment as required.
  • Ensure the completion schedules are met.
  • Develop electrical preventative maintenance program for plant.
  • Detail training needs for new equipment.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned by manager
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP Practices and Global Food Safety practices.

SAFETY

  • Follow established job specific and OSHA guidelines to facilitate health and safety procedures.
  • Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to the Health and Safety team. Make corrections compliant with internal and external health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Work jointly with the Health and Safety team to establish work procedures for new equipment.
  • Maintain housekeeping in work area.
  • Actively participate in maintaining health and safety equipment in good working order.
  • Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
  • Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area.

COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • AS orElectrical Controls Technology Program Degree
  • 3 – 5 years of industry experience
  • RSLogix 5, 5000, Siemens 7 and Omron PLC; s
  • DeviceNet, ControlNet, EtherNet IP
  • DriveExecutive, DriveExplorer
  • PanelBuilder
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to design and build control panels
  • 3 Phase experience
  • Strong teamwork capabilities, operating in a multi-function environment to collectively improve operations and resolve related issues. Hands-on approach to engineering.
